Brad this is Bill with 99 cherokee interior light problem I did just like you said motor running and hit on the back glass NO lights came on at all with the headlights on and off I did get a second turn singal switch out of a 05 turned the switch on so the lights would auto dim and the lights DIDNT come on I tryed this for one hour and they didnt come on what do you think is it that turn singal switch.
